Community & Creator Policies
Community Guidelines
Rules for lawful, respectful use, reporting, and Platform enforcement.
Last updated August 29, 2026
1. Purpose
Drift & Quill is a platform for discovering, reading, publishing, and discussing stories and related creative works. These Community Guidelines establish baseline rules for safe, lawful, and respectful participation.
These Guidelines are incorporated into the Terms of Service. If there is a conflict, the Terms of Service control unless a more specific policy expressly states otherwise.
We may update these Guidelines as the Platform evolves, subject to the changes provisions in the Terms of Service.
2. Prohibited conduct
You may not use Drift & Quill to:
- violate applicable law or regulation;
- threaten, stalk, harass, intimidate, or abuse another person;
- publish or distribute content that exploits or sexually abuses minors;
- facilitate trafficking, terrorism, violent criminal activity, or other serious unlawful conduct;
- publish or distribute non-consensual intimate imagery;
- dox, expose, sell, or solicit another person's private or sensitive information without authorization;
- impersonate another person or organization in a misleading manner;
- conduct fraud, phishing, scams, deceptive transactions, or payment abuse;
- evade moderation, account restrictions, suspensions, or bans;
- manipulate rankings, reviews, recommendations, views, likes, follows, reads, comments, or other Platform metrics through deceptive or automated means;
- use bots, scripts, crawlers, scrapers, or automation except where expressly authorized;
- upload malware, malicious code, or material designed to disrupt or compromise the Platform;
- probe, scan, test, circumvent, or defeat security or access controls;
- bypass paywalls, subscriber restrictions, geographic restrictions, mature-content gates, download controls, or other technical protections;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code from the Platform except to the extent applicable law expressly permits and the restriction cannot legally be waived;
- harvest or compile user information for unauthorized purposes;
- use Platform Content or Platform data to train, fine-tune, evaluate, or operate an artificial intelligence or machine-learning system without Drift & Quill's prior written authorization;
- use Drift & Quill to build, operate, or materially facilitate a competing service using Platform Content, non-public data, or protected Platform functionality without permission;
- interfere with another user's access to the Platform; or
- encourage or assist another person to do anything prohibited by these policies.
3. Illegal and harmful content
Illegal content is prohibited. We may remove, restrict, preserve, disclose, or report content or account information when we reasonably believe it is necessary to comply with law, protect people, protect the Platform, investigate suspected wrongdoing, or respond to lawful requests.
Nothing in these Guidelines requires Drift & Quill to determine whether conduct violates criminal or civil law. We may take action based on our policies, risk assessments, contractual rights, or legal obligations without making a final legal determination.
4. Mature content
Mature content must be accurately labeled and must comply with all applicable law and Platform restrictions.
Mature labeling is not permission to publish otherwise prohibited material. A work may be removed even if it is correctly labeled.
Drift & Quill may apply additional age gates, visibility restrictions, geographic restrictions, search restrictions, or other controls at any time.
5. Reporting
Users may report suspected violations through available Platform reporting tools or published support channels.
A report should contain enough information for Drift & Quill to locate and evaluate the reported material. False, fraudulent, knowingly misleading, or abusive reports may result in account restrictions.
Submitting a report does not guarantee removal, investigation, a response, or a particular outcome.
6. Moderation and enforcement
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Drift & Quill may:
- remove, disable, restrict, demote, age-gate, or otherwise limit Content;
- limit features or visibility;
- place an account under review;
- suspend or terminate accounts;
- suspend or terminate monetization;
- hold or delay creator payouts when reasonably necessary for fraud, disputes, legal compliance, or Platform protection;
- preserve relevant records;
- cooperate with service providers, rights holders, regulators, courts, and law enforcement; and
- take any other action reasonably necessary to enforce Platform rules or protect the Platform and its users.
We do not promise advance notice, an explanation, or an opportunity to cure every violation.
7. Appeals
Where Drift & Quill provides an appeal process, an appeal should identify the decision being challenged and the relevant facts or evidence.
An appeal does not guarantee restoration of Content or an account.
Nothing in this section limits rights or procedures that cannot lawfully be waived.
These pages are provided for Platform protection and user notice. They do not create obligations beyond those stated in the Terms of Service. If documents conflict, the Terms of Service control unless required otherwise by law.
