Privacy Policy

How Drift & Quill collects, uses, and protects information.

**Important:** This section is a high-level master policy and should not be treated as a complete privacy compliance program. Drift & Quill should maintain a separate data inventory, retention schedule, cookie/analytics disclosures, data-processing agreements, vendor list, rights-request workflow, security incident process, and state/international privacy analysis.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy describes how Drift & Quill collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects information in connection with the Platform.

2. Information we may collect

Depending on how you use the Platform, we may process:

  • account identifiers and email address;
  • authentication information handled by authentication providers;
  • username, display name, biography, avatar, and profile information;
  • Creator Content and associated metadata;
  • comments, reviews, messages, reports, and other submissions;
  • reading progress, libraries, follows, likes, and similar activity;
  • purchase, subscription, billing, payout, and transaction records;
  • limited device, browser, network, diagnostic, and security information;
  • IP address and approximate location derived from technical information where reasonably necessary;
  • fraud-prevention and security signals;
  • communications with Drift & Quill; and
  • information you provide voluntarily.

Payment-card information may be processed directly by payment providers rather than stored on Drift & Quill application servers.

3. Sources

We may receive information:

  • directly from you;
  • automatically through use of the Platform;
  • from payment, authentication, hosting, security, analytics, or other service providers;
  • from other Users when they submit reports or interactions involving you; and
  • from public or legally available sources where reasonably necessary for Platform operation or compliance.

4. Purposes

We may use information to:

  • create and secure accounts;
  • provide reading, publishing, discovery, and monetization services;
  • process payments and payouts;
  • provide customer support;
  • personalize Platform features;
  • prevent fraud, abuse, spam, and security incidents;
  • enforce Platform Policies;
  • investigate copyright and other rights complaints;
  • communicate service-related information;
  • comply with legal obligations;
  • protect users and the public; and
  • maintain, debug, analyze, and improve the Platform.

5. Public Content

Content and profile information you choose to publish publicly may be accessible to other Users and the public internet.

Do not publish information you do not want to make public.

Search engines, caches, archives, screenshots, third-party applications, or other users may retain copies of publicly available information even after it is removed from Drift & Quill.

6. Service providers

We may disclose information to service providers that perform services for us, such as:

  • hosting and infrastructure;
  • authentication;
  • payment processing;
  • storage and content delivery;
  • analytics;
  • security and fraud prevention;
  • email and communications;
  • customer support; and
  • moderation and safety.

Service providers may process information under their own legal obligations and contracts with Drift & Quill.

7. Legal disclosures and safety

We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to:

  • comply with law or legal process;
  • respond to lawful governmental requests;
  • enforce our Terms;
  • investigate suspected fraud or abuse;
  • protect rights, property, safety, or security;
  • prevent imminent harm; or
  • support a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of assets.

8. Data retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including account operation, legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, security, financial records, and enforcement.

Deletion may not immediately remove information from backups, logs, fraud systems, legal records, or copies maintained by third parties or other Users.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we process.

No internet service, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

10. Your privacy choices

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights concerning personal information, including rights to access, correct, delete, obtain a copy of, or restrict certain processing of information.

Available rights and procedures vary by jurisdiction.

Requests may be subject to identity verification and legal exceptions.

11. Cookies and similar technologies

Drift & Quill may use cookies, local storage, pixels, SDKs, and similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, analytics, performance, and other Platform functions.

A separate cookie or tracking disclosure may apply where required by law.

12. Children's privacy

The Platform is not intended for children below the minimum age permitted by applicable law.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable children's privacy laws.

If you believe a child has provided personal information in violation of applicable law, contact Drift & Quill through the published privacy channel.

13. International users

The Platform may be operated from or use service providers located in countries other than your own.

Where applicable law requires additional disclosures, safeguards, consent mechanisms, contractual protections, or transfer mechanisms, Drift & Quill will apply those requirements to the extent applicable.

14. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. The current version and effective date will be published on the Platform.
